The digital world after COVID-19.

The pandemic has brought a new life experience, placing us in situations never before encountered, but above all, it has introduced a new version of everything we knew, the things we had grown and evolved with as a society. Faced with this, we were compelled to rapidly transform certain aspects of science and technology, from speeding up the vaccination process and developing potential vaccines against the virus to creating new ways of personal, work, and educational socialization.

 

The pandemic breaks barriers between the physical and the digital.

This new reality has shattered social coexistence stigmas that used to shape us as individuals. It has presented new possible ways of generating income, but above all, it has turned the virtual world into the new real world.

 

Virtuality is the essence of contemporary societies; now, we live in two realities, and possibly, a third one may emerge.

 

The third reality will converge with the physical and the virtual, allowing us to teleport from one world to another, thanks to the metaverse, the new technological revolution we could call the post-pandemic reality.

 

The popularity of remote work or “home office” surged during the pandemic and is here to stay. In fact, many companies are aligning themselves with the potential of the metaverse. According to PwC, the training sector stands to gain significantly in a virtual office environment.

The world in three dimensions: the metaverse, what is it?

Mark Zuckerberg has described the metaverse as a “virtual environment” that you can enter, rather than just looking at a screen. It’s a world of infinite virtual communities, where you can play, work, meet people, and interact with an environment that feels physical through augmented reality glasses.

 

Victoria Petrock, an analyst of emerging technologies, commented that the metaverse is the next evolution of connectivity, where all these things start to come together in an integrated universe that mimics our own, so you live your virtual life just like you live your physical life.

 

Now is the time to experience three realities because the metaverse aims to make the internet a more real world than it already seems.
